The refrigerator still keeps shutting itself off, so Peter will come up to adjust it when he finishes his current job. The sink is gradually getting better by itself, so probably nothing will have to be done on that—saving the mess of figuring out who’s responsible and how it could be fixed. A couple of minor things on the outside need to be finished next spring, but the cottage is essentially finished and we can move on.
We’re now ordering, and Andy is assembling, bookcases for the attic:
And we’re starting to fix up my study so I can use it when I visit:
As you can see I have my standing desk and a trampoline for working, and with the airbed there isn’t room for much else. The bed is an experiment. The original idea was to use it rarely—to usually leave it deflated to make more space in the room. But given my crazy sleep schedule/circadian rhythm it became clear I will need a nap if I go up there for the day. It pays to be flexible.
Anyway, fixing up the inside of the cottage to suit our needs will be an ongoing project. And I love being able to work at our own pace again.
What about you? Are you usually free to work at your own pace or does the outside world intrude?
