They started to build our “chimney” today. Actually it’s a structure not just for the wood stove pipe but also for the venting pipes for our propane heater and refrigerator, air-to-air heat exchanger, etc.
We also passed our plumbing and heating inspection, and our windows arrived today. They hope to install them next week. On the downside we had rains heavy enough to mess up the roads. Andy spent one morning cleaning out culverts after one rain, only to have it pour while he was eating lunch. The rain completely filled up the culverts again. He’s arranged to have a backhoe, backhoe operator and two helpers work on the road this weekend. The flooding is mainly an aftermath of the fire–there is still not enough vegetation to stop flash flooding and erosion. Anyway, we’re not surprised. That’s one reason our cabin is so small. Roadwork is expensive.
What about you? Any ups and/or downs in your life this week?
