Cathy,
I'm sorry that happened to you! :( I hope you recover fast. It is scary, as well as painful, when our bodies betray us.

I bought a 55 cm ball first because that was supposed to be the correct one for my height. It was too short to use as a computer chair so I bought the pink one too. I could have gotten green but for some reason it cost more. I can live with bubble gum pink...even though it's not as elegant as your red one.

bikehikebabe,
It's more gently moving rather than exercise at the computer. My feet are on the ground and I like it. It reminds me of a rocking chair.

Rummuser,
Life is one adjustment after another. Hope the dentist did a good job with his (adjustment). Again, it pays to have a sense of humor. That plus mourning our losses... the small ones as well as big ones.

bikehikebabe, I agree you don't need to fall off the red ball...even if it have you fall onto a carpet. Use your chair, use the red ball as a decorative large fruit :-)

I have a green one, NO I had a green one but I couldn't get it at the right level for my computer and I needed support. My green ball then developed a sudden idea of deflating so it's downstairs waiting for me to deal to it...the bin methinks.

Take care, heal soon...I ache a bit this morning but seem less stiff

Yes. New half dentures that keep popping out when I chew food. Just earlier this evening, the dentist has tightened whatever needed to be tightened and suggested that I be less vigorous chewing!

LOL I love your thing in the box that eats letters. Be thankful. I had to have 23 stitches, broke my neck & nose. Everything fine now & looks good. Fell against a sharp edge.

"Is beauty more important than comfort? Yes." That was a joke. You ought to see me in my old clothes, which is everyday since I don't usually go anywhere.

I didn't really try the red ball. I'm using my chair. I'm not ready for exercise at the computer yet. Maybe later.

This isn't going to be pleasant reading...and it's still rather raw! It wasn't unusual to do this sort of thing less than a decade ago but I haven't done it for at least a couple of years (will not to this degree)!!!

I am nursing some cuts, scrapes and bruises - one of which is quite in the wrong place! Some students who noticed the bruise coming out thought I had been in a fight!

I got into a fight alright when my toe/boot decided it was time for me to be lower to the ground and not any ole ground but the rough concrete pavement just across the road from my house! I sprawled flat on my old mug and it did take a bit of time to get up off the ground My knees did protest about the levering up My palms did protest when my knees were not co-operating

Once up I realised that my finger was bleeding and I assumed quite wrongly that was the blood on my hand...I hobbled back home (I was only over the road) to see in the bathroom mirror that my 'underside' chin was a'bleeding!

I applied lots of bandaids but the one on my chin didn't look right so I just got the chin to bleed no more. I ascertained if anything was seriously hurt, got some colour back in my mug and then ambled off to Uni. Bandaid x 2 to knee, bandaid x 2 to finger - savlon antiseptic cream to other bits - wad of tissues in case something started a'bleeding again

I wasn't ever going to be late for anything and the reason I was out earlier was because I wanted to get on with one of my essays at Uni...anyway I class my Friday as the fun Music day and I hate missing anything. I couldn't hold my pencil (though I had hardly use it - notetaker) but I missed it so much that I got it out hour 2. By the end of hour 3 in another class, the bruise/swelling on my chin was looking serious so I ambled over to the Uni medical centre where the nurse cleansed the wound and applied a more smaller plaster to it....after that I forgot I had said plaster on!

Some of the students in my tut who had seen me earlier seemed pleased it had a plaster on by then. When I could decently leave Uni I came home - slowly as such. No walking down to Britomart, rode a bus. Still aching but on arrival home - got changed, stripped off all plasters and hit the shower - do feel better now I'm home. However, I will need to go down the bandage avenue tomorrow as the bandaid wasn't wide enough for certain areas...

Cathy
PS some bastard has knocked my secondary letterbox off it's pedestal (i.e. brick upright fence) so now that is residing on my recycle bin by the front steps - the box that is the official one has things that live in there and eat paper - they do not just eat junk mail but are fond of letters ...hopefully they won't munch through too many important letters!

bikehikebabe,
So you prefer regular chairs for comfort? I'm glad it looks great. :)

Ursula,
"When other people do it in my presence it drives me nuts. Can’t stand it." That's what I love about working alone. There are no cross patches to spoil my fun. :)

The red ball looks really swell in here with the red accents in this room. The room used to have bright red shag carpet until Lydia's Swede husband put in Pergo (fake wood) flooring everywhere. I digress.

Have I done something unusual recently? I don't know, Jean. I don't monitor myself much and what is one person's madness is another's default mode.

I am so very happy to report that I do NOT fidget. When other people do it in my presence it drives me nuts. Can't stand it. And yes, those balls are fun if you want to wobble but I can't wobble, think and write all at the same time. Anyway, I love my chairs and will be loyal to them till wear and tear shall do us part.

Let's hope BHB won't fall off her new seating arrangement. She is proving to be quite impressionable by following your suggestion with such trust and enthusiasm.
