Rummuser,
"If you are interested, I shall do some more research and send you details." The Wikipedia article was interesting...thank you. If you're interested in doing some more research I would love to read it, but I'm even more curious about how you feel about your six seasons. Do you have a favorite? How do you feel about the hot summers? We prefer cooler weather.

One thing we've been commenting on is that the windy season hasn't started yet. We're at 7200 feet so we're well aware when the jet stream shifts. March and April can be very windy. I've often joked I need to wear ankle weights to keep from being blown away. :)

Yes, in the Indian system there are six names for different periods that date from the time when economies revolved around agriculture and such breaks enabled proper planning. A brief mention is made here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ritu_%28Indian_season%29 If you are interested, I shall do some more research and send you details.

I was shoveling & scraping snow & ice from the driveway. For the exercise. It'll melt. The temp. was 52 F. in the shade, but felt 72 with the radiation from the sun. Anything higher would have been too darn hot for shoveling.

Cathy,
I love your reports about the seasons. It's fun to remember that you're just the opposite of us.

What's your favorite season? Mine is fall. I find the cooler weather invigorating.

Rummuser,
I recently read a blog from India. The gal said you have six seasons instead of our four. Do you agree with that?

The gal likes the extra variety, but I'm not sure I would like your hot summers. When we went to India it was in November and the weather was just fine.

even though the days are glorious - there is a distinct little chill creeping in especially morning on the way to Uni.

one of my lecturers commented that the thought the lecture hall was a tad cold and so it would be time to turn down the aircon and turn on some heat...but when we went out in the corridor it felt colder out there!

last night I was reaching for another blanket for my bed, but then later I threw it off and I must gone back to it very early witching hours because it was on me when I woke up!

None of the major leave falling trees in the City are losing their leaves yet though...so it's just the start of Summer disappearing and Autumn (your Fall) arriving.

Mike,
I know Spring comes a lot earlier in Arkansas than here in New Mexico. We envy you your green vegetation, but not your tornadoes. :)

bikehikebabe,
Yes, mud season! It sounds as if it's later where your cabin is. Thanks for noticing the WordPress problems. It's been acting weird lately but hopefully will behave until I try to post again next week.

When we go to our cabin too early--like June--we slide to the bottom of the mountain on our way home.

Spring.... We had thunderstorms and tornado warnings in various parts of Arkansas yesterday. Daffodils are bloom and other flowers will soon follow.
