Workplaces are often hierarchical and status-conscious environments. The fellow in the cartoon might very well be labeled as a "loser" and there's a good chance he wouldn't be experienced as a real person. That happens too often in this poor old world. I'm thinking in particular of the African Americans in the U.S. and Jews in Nazi Germany. And there are countless other examples throughout the world. I'm sure you're like me, you try to avoid environments like that if there's nothing we can do to change them. Grannymar, I couldn't agree more. He got a job as a salesman and has been beating all records at his employers. He wrote to me just yesterday that he found inspiration from a book called 'The Power of Nice (How to conquer the world with kindness)' by linda kaplan thaler;robin koval. He was so enthusiastic that I have ordered it online. He says that all that he learnt from the book is that all it takes to be a successful salesman is to be nice and kind to others!
