In fact other breeds have a higher record of biting, but if you get bitten by a Chihuahua it's not as serious. Unfortunately all pit bulls get labeled. Cathy,

They have a bad reputation because some of them have been trained for dog fights...they're strong and persistent and want to please their humans. Those same qualities mean they also can make great family pets. We've had quite a few come through the shelter on their way to good homes. Rummuser,
