What saves me is that I’m not in this alone–like so is the rest of the world. If it were only I that lost half my money I’d be really pissed. :(

bikehikebabe,
I agree, and what about the people who lost all of their savings in the Madoff scam? One poor fellow was over 90 and is now a greeter in a grocery store. I’m counting my blessings.

I am sorry Jean, my comment got cut off! It should read -What is new? That is what as a pessimist, I would say.

rummuser,
I wasn’t sure how to respond. Thanks for clarifying.

I do use the phrase, “So what else is new?” a lot. It’s certainly not coming from blind optimism, but maybe it’s not pessimism either. It can be trying to see life clearly and still doing what we can to push this poor old world in the direction we’d like it to go. Maybe we can’t do much, but we can do something. ;)
